A guy has died and a further has been hurt after an avalanche on the north confront of Ben Nevis.
Law enforcement Scotland said they ended up designed mindful of the avalanche at about 3.35pm on Friday.
The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and a helicopter were being dispatched to help two male climbers who were in the space at the time.
A 48-yr-outdated gentleman was pronounced dead at the scene and a 40-year-old was taken to Belford hospital in Fort William for cure. Upcoming of kin have been informed.
The mountain rescue workforce posted an update on the incident on its Facebook web page, expressing the adult males ended up discovered at No 2 Gully on the north face of the mountain.
It mentioned: “Sadly just one had sustained fatal injuries and the other was very seriously hurt just after a slide of 600 metres [2000ft] (around).
“With the weather conditions creating some difficult problems the helicopter was confined to the help it could offer.
“This intended that we experienced an prolonged extrication of the casualties and eight several hours following the preliminary phone we delivered the casualty to the Belford hospital for more evaluation and therapy.
“At this time, our ideas are with the households of each associated.”
