Ex-Netherlands winger Overmars in hospital after suffering stroke

AMSTERDAM, Dec 31 — Former Netherlands global Marc Overmars was admitted to medical center soon after struggling a “mild stroke”, Belgian club Royal Antwerp said on Friday.

The 49-year-outdated has served as director of soccer at prime-flight Antwerp because March.

“Marc Overmars, director of soccer affairs at RAFC, grew to become unwell final evening and was admitted to hospital with a moderate stroke,” the club mentioned in a statement.

“Marc is performing well in the meantime, but will have to just take it quick for a when. Marc and his household concentrate on his recovery and do not would like to comment further more.”

Previous Arsenal and Barcelona winger Overmars performed for Ajax Amsterdam from 1992 to 1997 and turned director of soccer at the Dutch club in 2012.
