A legendary previous Bolton headmaster has wowed ex-pupils and colleagues with a shock visual appeal on primetime television.
Frank Vigon, now retired, has been recognized to generations of pupils in the borough as the maverick headteacher of Turton Superior Faculty Media Arts College or university.
Just one pupil he created a certain effect on was actress Sophie Willan, and the pair had been reunited on this week’s episode of BBC1’s Would I Lie To You.

Explaining her link to Mr Vigon, she jokingly said: “This is Frank, he kicked me out of university for arriving in a Bikini!”
Other panellists on the clearly show were being challenged to check out and guess if the Bolton actress was telling the real truth.
She mentioned: “He was my headmaster and fundamentally I made the decision I wasn’t going to go into school that working day because I fancied a little something a little bit distinctive.
“I did not go in generally, I used to do guest appearances seriously but on this situation I made a decision to go down correct by college there is a large industry.”

Sophie described how she experienced absent to the area with her close friends and, it becoming a scorching working day, was donning a swimsuit.
But she was caught by a further trainer when generating her way again into the school to get some batteries, leaving Mr Vigon no solution but to exclude her for turning up to faculty in ‘non-uniform.’
She mentioned: “Frank was a beautiful headmaster nevertheless, I never want to dob him in wholly!”
When she had concluded, fellow panellists David Mitchell and Gloria Hunniford each imagined her story was fiction, with only Guz Khan believing it was accurate.
When Mr Vigon disclosed himself, the sceptical panellists ended up shocked to uncover that Sophie’s tale was certainly wholly authentic.

The Turton headmaster was vastly properly beloved by his pupils for his unorthodox and laid again strategy and was quickly recognisable for his resemblance to Simpsons character Krusty the Clown and has tendency to burst into song to demonstrate his points.
