WATCH: Drew Barrymore claps back at Hugh Grant’s dismissal of her singing

Drew Barrymore has responded to Hugh Grant’s recent assertion that she is a really poor singer in design. She took to Instagram to share a video in which she can be found using a hairbrush in her hand (to use as a mic, presumably) and singing ‘Way Again to Love’. This is the similar tune that Barrymore and Grant sing with each other in Marc Lawrence’s intimate 2007 comedy motion picture Tunes and Lyrics. In the film, Alex Fletcher (Grant), a washed-up pop star who is battling to discover relevance in the present-day songs scene. 1 day, his supervisor ways him with a new option: generate a tune for a well known young pop star, Cora Corman (Bennett), who desires a hit one for her future album.

Alex is originally hesitant, but soon finds inspiration in Sophie Fisher (Barrymore), his quirky and charming plant caretaker who has a way with words. 

The movie is labelled, “My Response to Hugh Grant.” She wrote in the caption, “#SingForHughGrant Be part of ME.” 

Hugh Grant experienced earlier said whilst speaking to Wired, “Drew Barrymore was in that film with me, and I really don’t imagine she’d head me indicating her singing is just horrendous. I’ve heard canine bark much better than she sings.” 

He went on to admit that as poor as she is, he is even worse. “After they tuned her up, she sounded way better than me, since she’s obtained coronary heart and voice and rock ‘n’ roll,” he reported.
